Sound for the mind.
Tell it how you feel and press play. No meditation course, no homework.
Just Press Play
Not guided meditation. Designed sound, picked by how you feel. Five sections, one tap away, including one for ADHD.
Brown noise, rain, ocean and low steady beds for the middle of the night, plus world lullabies, a sleep timer and a sleep score built from your Apple Health data.
Steady study music and focus sound with no lyrics, from cafe and library ambience to pink noise, with a one-tap focus timer.
Slow, soft sound, from ocean and forest to ambient, plus simple guided breathing with a count to follow.
Steady, low-surprise sound with nothing to follow, including brown noise and white noise, with a Pomodoro-style timer.
Gentle lullabies, white noise and soft bedtime sounds for little ones, with an auto-stop timer and a built-in volume reminder.
How It Works
Four steps, and the first two take a few seconds.
Why It Feels Different
No voice to follow, nothing to get right. You press play, and that is all.
Sound to put on for sleep, focus or downtime, not a meditation course.
Sound from cultures around the world, chosen by intent rather than picked at random.
Steady sound with nothing to follow, and work and break timers you set yourself.
Luten is for relaxation, focus and rest, with no homework and no streak guilt.
Luten or a Playlist
A music playlist and Luten both put sound in your ears. They are built for different jobs.
The Signature
The heart of Luten: Sona, who learns what to play for you, and a sleep score built from your Apple Health data.
Tell Sona you are tired, wired, anxious or cannot focus. She suggests a real track by name, then learns which sounds you keep. She runs entirely on your device, so nothing you type ever leaves your phone.
A 0 to 100 score built from your Apple Health sleep, with a full breakdown of duration, deep, REM and interruptions, plus vitals like heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate and blood oxygen. No vanity numbers.
What's Inside
A considered set of tools that work together, quietly.
An evolving mix that crossfades between tracks across a session, not one file on loop.
No menus to read at 3am. The Luten mark turns slowly and breathes with whatever is playing, on a black screen that stays dark at night.
Background play, looping and continuous routines that keep going instead of stopping after one track.
Wind-down and daily ritual nudges, plus a soft come-back reminder. Quiet prompts, never a jarring alarm.
A short starter program and gentle streaks, without the guilt.
A home-screen widget, an Apple Watch app and iMessage stickers.
Two to four members, each with their own space. Your profile syncs to the cloud and survives a reinstall.
Design
An Apple Liquid Glass interface over a living sky that moves with your day: blue at noon, purple at dusk, deep violet at night, with the sun and moon arcing overhead.
The Practical Part
Honest details, no fine print games.
Questions
Luten is an app for iPhone and Android that plays sound, with sections for Sleep, Focus, Stress, ADHD and Kids, and learns which sounds you keep. It is made by One Life. The name is pronounced LOO-ten.
No. Luten is sound, not guided meditation. You tell it how you feel and press play. No course, no breathing homework, no gurus.
People often choose steady sound with no beat and nothing that builds or drops: brown noise, pink noise, rain, ocean, fan hum and low held tones. Which one suits you is personal, so Luten lets you try them and puts the ones you keep playing first. On iPhone it also shows a sleep score built from your Apple Health data so you can see your nights.
White noise has equal energy at every frequency, so it sounds bright and hissy, like static. Pink noise has less energy as the pitch rises, so it sounds softer and more even, like steady rain. Brown noise drops off faster still, so it sounds deep and rumbling, like a waterfall or strong wind. Luten includes all three, each synthesised to its true spectrum.
Many people work to steady sound with no lyrics and no sudden changes, such as cafe or library ambience, pink noise, brown noise, steady rain or soft instrumental study music. Luten's Focus mode plays that kind of sound and starts a focus timer, and ADHD mode adds a Pomodoro-style timer.
Yes. Luten's ADHD section plays steady, low-surprise sound with a timer. It is a wellness tool, not a medical device, and it does not treat any condition.
There is no set length, and Luten does not prescribe one. Let a sound play until you stop it, or set a sleep timer so it fades out after the time you choose.
Luten keeps playing with the screen locked until you stop it, or it stops on a sleep timer that fades the sound out. No sound has narration or lyrics, and nearly every track has even loudness. Keep the volume low and comfortable, and ask a doctor if you have questions about your hearing or your sleep.
Luten is sound, not guided meditation: you say how you feel and press play, with no course to finish. It covers sleep, focus, stress, ADHD and kids in one app, no sound has narration or lyrics, nearly every track has even loudness, and Sona, who suggests sounds, runs on your phone. On iPhone it also shows a sleep score built from your Apple Health data.
Yes. Playback carries on with the screen off, with full controls on the lock screen (and in Control Center on iPhone), and a sleep timer if you want one.
Sona, who suggests sounds, runs entirely on your phone, and on iPhone it also uses Apple's own on-device language tools. What you type stays on the phone. Your profile and preferences sync to your account so they survive a reinstall.
Luten is out now on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. It is a free download with an optional subscription, and every subscription starts with a 7-day free trial.
